Fun Friday at Hawkes Library

Hawkes Library kicked off our summer programs Friday, June 16, 2017, with Fun Friday. Our theme was "Alligators!" Beginning at 10:30 am, children up to 2nd grade enjoyed stories and crafts led by Dr. Lacey Southerland, Director of Children's Programs at Hawkes and also Professor of Education at Point University. After all that fun, the children and their teen helpers enjoyed a sandwich lunch provided by the Friends of Hawkes Library. Fun Fridays are set to take place again on June 23 and July 21, 2017. Our annual Summer Day Camp will be June 26-30, 2017, and our Summer Children’s Programs will celebrate with ice cream sundaes and water fun on Wow Wednesday, July 26, 2017. These programs are offered free to the community, but we appreciate it if you call Hawkes Library at 706-645-1549 to register, so we can make sure to have enough supplies for all the children.

New Hours for Hawkes Library

We are excited to let you know that we have expanded our hours! For a long time, it has been a concern of ours that Hawkes Library is not open when many people might need to use the library or our computers. Beginning in May of 2017, Hawkes Library will be open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.
